Mistress of the Ladybugs
So why am I using a ladybug as the logo for A Business of One’s Own?
Not because it is the official state insect for both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, the two states I’ve called home.
It’s because, they are beneficial to gardens and all good starts. I grew up with rule that if you found a ladybug, you were to put it on your palm, make a wish and then blow on it to send your good luck — and bug — out into the Universe. Always a winner.
That’s what I want for all women who want to start their own successful businesses; a guarantee of good fortune and the ability to make a solid contribution to the world.
More about ladybugs later.
Here I am wearing a ladybug necklace, crafted by our neighbor and friend Jon Gibson of Gibson Pewter, and given to me by my husband Roger just after the close of the Women’s Business Launch SUCCESS Telesummit this year.
Sweet of him to acknowledge my new brand and focus on women’s business start-ups coaching. It was indeed a healthy launch and I will tend my own business garden with care and smart effort.
